Fruit Salad – The Short Cook Style

Ingredients
  

  • 1 honeydew melon
  • 1 package of strawberries
  • 2 packages of raspberries
  • 4 cara cara organges
  • 4 cosmic crisp apples
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 lemon
  • ΒΌ cup Tropicana Strawberry Peach juice

Optional Ingredient for Adult Fruit Salad:

  • 1 shot glass of either Brandy, or Melon Liquor, or Banana Liquor, or Peach Schnapps

Instructions
 

  • Slice the honeydew melon in half. Use a spoon to scoop out the seeds. Then cut into into slices. Remove the peel and slice into cube like shapes. Place into a large bowl.
  • Wash and rinse your strawberries. Cut them in 4's and place them in the bowl.
  • Wash and rinse your raspberries and place them into the bowl.
  • Peel your oranges. Pull the orange apart and then slice the slices into halves and place them into the bowl.
  • Wash and peel your apples. Remove the core and slice into cubes and place them into the bowl.
  • Next add the granulated sugar, sprinkling it into the bowl.
  • Wash your lemom. Zest the whole lemon into the bowl. Only the yellow peel.
  • Then cut the lemon in half. Squeeze the juice of the whole lemon. Place the juice into the bowl. (Tip: juice your lemon in a separate bowl so you can remove the seeds easily.)
  • Then add the Tropicana juice to the bowl.
  • If you are making this an Adult Fruit Salad, please add your choice of liquor.
  • With a large slotted spoon, gently toss/mix your fruit salad together.
  • Plate and enjoy! Optionally, let the fruit salad sit in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to really let the flavors come together.

Notes

Please feel free to substitute any fruit with fruits that are in season at your supermarket and add additional fruits such as grapes if you like.
